Today’s society sees the emergence of new economic and cultural powers in the world we were used to call as the “third” one. Especially in the next two years Brazil will be one of the most exposed countries by the media communities displaying a global commitment to an international showcase.
Due to the 2014’s FIFA World Cup and 2016’s Olympic games, Brazil seems to demonstrate to be one of the most arising democracies of the new century.
How can architecture reflect this fact?
Since, as Georges Bataille pointed out architecture is the expression of the very being of societies, in the same way that human physiognomy is the expression of the being of individuals.
Burrasca magazine invites paper submission that may address this topic advancing different interpretations and perspectives about Architecture’s state of art in Brazil, related to some different topics of which we pinpointed three main categories, susceptible to different interpretations. In fact the call for submissions is open to other proposal.

The Brazil issue (#1) of Burrasca will be published in September 2014.
